1. What is the Treehouse Club (aka Shady Pines Radio Membership)?
Becoming a member of the Treehouse Club means joining a community of listeners who support independent broadcasting, local music, and grassroots arts. Operating Shady Pines Radio isn’t cheap, and we rely on ongoing donations in order to survive. Your membership helps ensure that we can continue empowering underrepresented voices, hosting live events, and keeping the pinewaves flowing!

3. How much does it cost to be a member?
Memberships range from $10–$100 per month, and each level comes with unique perks! We also offer a reduced-cost membership of $5 per month to ensure membership is accessible to everyone in our community. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps keep this boat afloat!

4. Where does my contribution go?
Your support covers essential costs like licensing fees, streaming services, equipment maintenance, live event production, and basic staff stipends. Thanks to our partnership with zero-fees nonprofit fundraising platform Zeffy, 100% of your contribution goes directly to keeping Shady Pines Radio thriving—no processing fees! During signup, you’ll also have the option to support Zeffy’s awesome work, but it’s completely optional.

5. How can I view, change, or cancel my membership?
You can track payments, update info, or adjust your membership anytime through your Zeffy account.

6. Is my membership tax-deductible?
Shady Pines Radio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your membership contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Zeffy will provide you with a receipt for your records.

7. How do I sign up?
Click the Join Now! button on this page, choose your contribution level, and follow the prompts. You’ll be part of the Treehouse Club in no time!

8. How is the Treehouse Club different from SPR’s Patreon?
Both Patreon and the Treehouse Club are great ways to offer monthly support to Shady Pines Radio, but there are some key differences. The Treehouse Club is powered by Zeffy, a zero-fees nonprofit fundraising platform that does not take a percentage of your donation for service fees. 100% of your contribution directly supports Shady Pines Radio and its mission. This means your donation has the biggest impact through the Treehouse Club. Plus, at $10 or higher, you’ll get a cool physical club card and access to exclusive member benefits!

9. Am I able to purchase a membership for someone else?
Not yet! This is in the works.

10. What’s the difference between the digital and physical membership card?
Members at our baseline $10 per month level or higher can receive a physical handmade membership card in addition to a digital Zeffy membership card. The physical membership card can be used to verify membership at events and for local business discounts. Those who choose our budget membership option, Pine Nut, receive only the digital card, which can be used to show membership status.
